The Caterpillars grabbed a win, 4-0, at Walleye Tank, overcoming a fine effort from Walla Walla pitcher Bill Robinson. Robinson went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. Today's win puts Grand Forks at 37-42, while Walla Walla falls to 43-36.
Grand Forks used a well-timed hit by Rod Johnson to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Caterpillars ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I like what I saw today," said Grand Forks manager Bob Sosa, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
