The Kennesaw Jets had to overcome a fine effort from Grim pitcher Jeremy Rice to grab a narrow 5-4 win at The Coffin. Rice went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. The Reapers have now dropped 5 straight.
The result might have been different for Kennesaw, had it not been for Juan Saucedo, the 20-year old designated hitter . Saucedo stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Kennesaw up, 5-4. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Saucedo called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
