Maine beat Fort Knox at Ballpark of Baxter, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to right fielder Gerardo Carranza. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win puts Maine at 6-2.
Maine needed the clutch hitting of Carlos López to notch the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sea Dogs on top, 4-3. For the game, López had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
López attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
