On Road, Jets Top River Rats, 3-1
|
In a well-pitched game between the Kennesaw Jets and the Columbia River Rats, pitcher Zakaria Cobar was superb. The Kennesaw left-hander helped his team win, 3-1. The win belongs to Kelly Frost in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Adam Vinck took the loss for Columbia. Felipe González earned save number 3 this season.
Kennesaw used the clutch hitting of Donald Bentley to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Jets ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Every loss hurts," said Columbia manager Kevin McCoy. "But this was a tough one."
Kennesaw is 29-38 and Columbia, with the loss, 29-38.
