Centennial Sneak Past Uruguayans, 6-5
|
The Fort Knox Centennial did just enough to sneak past the Germantown Uruguayans, 6-5, at Ballpark of Albuquerque. Fort Knox pitcher José Díaz, in particular, had a standout performance. With their winning streak at 4, the Centennial have raced to a strong start this season.
Fort Knox needed the clutch hitting of Ángel Soto to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Centennial on top, 6-5. For the game, Soto had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Soto said.
