Chiefs Turn Back River Rats, 2-1
|
Caldwell turned a good effort from starter Pedro Soto into a win over the Columbia River Rats at Pipers Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. With the win, the Chiefs improved to 28-35.
Emílio Núñes, who is tied for 6th in the PA in stolen bases with 7, contributed to the Caldwell win with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I was a little disappointed," said Columbia manager Kevin McCoy. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
