Caterpillars Deal Crawdads 2-0 Loss
|
Grand Forks got a strong outing from Ernest Thompson as the Caterpillars defeated the Cut Off Crawdads, 2-0, at Crawdads Field. Thompson, now 3-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up no hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The save was credited to Nick Price, his 9th.
Grand Forks used a well-timed hit by Andrés Montoya to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Caterpillars ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Thompson said.
The win has Grand Forks at 15-22.
