The Pontiac Godfathers knocked off the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 8-4, at Pontiac Copperdome. Jerry Padgett hit 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 4 runs. Pontiac reliever Salvador Martínez picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. Odwin Von Heezik shouldered the loss. With the victory, the Godfathers record now stands at 58-35.

Pontiac took the lead on Padgett's 14th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which came against Odwin Von Heezik in the bottom of the sixth, made the score 6-3, Pontiac.

"It's not about individual awards," Padgett told a Pontiac News reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
