Gutiérrez leads offense in Airmen Win
|
Juan Gutiérrez was superb against Belleville. The right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the SA in RBI with 60, had a changeup that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Airmen victory. The score was 3-2. Gutiérrez, now 6-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The 4th-place Airmen lifted their record to 49-40.
Jorge Morales had a critical at-bat with one out in the top of the sixth for Alameda. He came through with a 2-run double to put Alameda in front, 3-0.
"We'll try to build on that win," Gutiérrez told the Alameda Citizen.
