Tate Jacks Two Home Runs in 5-3 Monroeville Win
|
A 3-RBI performance from left fielder Kelsey Tate, who is rated as the 47th best prospect by BNN, led the Monroeville Yinzers to a win over the Washington Generals, 5-3. Sean Jones, the winner, goes to 1-2. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 5 walks and 3 strikeouts over 6 innings. Aaron King picked up the save, his 2nd.
With Monroeville leading 2-0 in the top of the fourth, Tate hit a knuckle curve from Steve McGee for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Yinzers ahead, 4-0.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Tate told the Monroeville Daily.
Monroeville, with the win, is 26-49.
