Yinzers Lose, 4-2, at Washington Park
|
Washington pitcher Lou Thompson did his part in helping his team beat the Monroeville Yinzers, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 7 innings, Thompson surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Washington is in 7th place in the Silver A with a record of 32-41.
The Yinzers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Generals going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old right fielder Jack D. Chaddington III came to the plate. Chaddington III hit a grand slam home run on a full count fastball from Monroeville hurler Jed Knight. It was Chaddington III's 6th home run of the year.
