The Monroeville Yinzers topped the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 5-0, in USSL Single A action at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Monroeville pitcher and Gardena, California, native Lester Creed. Aaron King recorded the save for Monroeville, his 1st of the season. At 25-45, the Yinzers claim last place in the Silver A.
Creed earned the win, going 7.2 strong innings for Monroeville. The right-hander allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Myrtle Beach hitters had little success against him.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Myrtle Beach skipper Tom Oglander.
