The Delmarva Gallos knocked off the Monroeville Yinzers, 6-4, at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. Tom Burke hit 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Akil bin Abbud got the win, improving to 2-4. He held the Yinzers to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Davey de Haan closed the door for Delmarva, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Delmarva used a well-timed hit by Michael Austin to capture the win. The catcher socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Gallos ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Burke told the Delmarva Bulletin.
With the win, Delmarva pushed its record to 36-32.
