Myrtle Beach Beats Belleville, 5-0
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks stymied the Belleville Bulls, 5-0, at Seahwaks Stadium. Ryan Leroy had a good day at the plate. He was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Myrtle Beach. Ray Stevenson earned the save for Myrtle Beach, his 14th of the year. The Seahawks are now 24-32, while the Bulls fall to 29-27.
The Seahawks got an important contribution from left fielder Ted Swanson, who in the bottom of the second knocked a 1-0 curveball into left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Seahawks ahead, 2-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Swanson.
