Yinzers Defeat Blue Dragons, 3-2
|
Monroeville turned a good effort from starter Lester Creed into a win over the Levittown Blue Dragons at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Creed went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered no hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-6. At 19-32, the Yinzers claim last place in the Silver A.
Matt Flores, who is tied for 6th in the SA in doubles with 11, helped out the Monroeville cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the shortstop drove in one run.
Flores said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
