Generals Slip Past Delmarva, 4-3
The Washington Generals did just enough to sneak past the Delmarva Gallos, 4-3, at Washington Park. Washington pitcher Lou Thompson, in particular, had a standout performance. Alejandro Quintana came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Washington is now 22-22.

Had Cullen Clement not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Clement hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Generals.

After the game, Washington manager Nathan Horton applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
