In a tight game between the Alameda Airmen and the Monroeville Yinzers, pitcher Bill MacNeill was terrific on the mound. The Alameda right-hander helped his team to the 2-0 win. MacNeill picked up the win for Alameda, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Eric Morgan finished the game for Alameda and earned his 9th save.
Max Rafter, the 21-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rafter contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put Alameda up, 1-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Alameda manager Gonzalo Féliz said.
The second-place Airmen sport a record of 16-10.
