Jim Lambert was outstanding against Monroeville. The right-hander had a slider that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Godfathers 7-0 win. Lambert got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. Lambert allowed no runs. Salvador Martínez earned save number 1 this season.
Pontiac left fielder Jerry Padgett delivered a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 2.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Padgett told the Pontiac News.
The Yinzers fall to 6-12 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2055 season.
