The Pontiac Godfathers picked up a win at Pontiac Copperdome, taking down the Monroeville Yinzers, 3-1. Starting pitcher Chris Morris was a big reason why. Morris went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 12. His record improves to 2-0. Mitch O'Sullivan sewed up the save, his 4th.

William Collins drove in one run for Pontiac. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Lester Creed. It was his 6th RBI of the season.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Collins told the Pontiac News.

Pontiac goes to 9-7.
