Tight Tilt Goes to Bush Pilots, 3-2
|
Alejandro Gutiérrez pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Niagara Falls Expos, despite Gutiérrez's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Alaskan Bush Pilots at Waterfall Park. Eisaku Miyata notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 4.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-1. Rod Mayfield converted his 19th save in 20 tries.
Matt Taylor, the Alaskan first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to make the score 3-0, Bush Pilots. For the game, Taylor was 1-4.
"Enjoyed this one," Taylor told the Alaskan Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Bush Pilots now have a record of 47-45.
