Expos Finish Off Herons in 12
|
In a low-scoring contest, Niagara Falls pitcher David García was marvelous in his team's 2-1 win. Chad McDonald earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 4-2. Tony Mireles got the save, the 4th for him this season.
Niagara Falls got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Hank Sutton. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Expos ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"Big win," said García.
The slumping Herons have lost 6 straight.
