Expos Snag 6-3 Win
|
The Yucca Valley Yellows got a superb performance from pitcher Eric Hyde. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Niagara Falls. The Expos won the game, 6-3. Hyde threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball. After today's action, Niagara Falls sits at 31-50, while Yucca Valley falls to 36-45.
Niagara Falls needed the clutch hitting of Frank Gould to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Expos on top, 6-3. For the game, Gould had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Niagara Falls skipper Mackenzie Bolen. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
