Yellows Rally For 3-1 Win

The Yucca Valley Yellows topped the Matlacha Manatees, 3-1, in M3L Single A action at Fuller Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Yucca Valley pitcher Ken Leuthold. Sandro Gonzáles earned the save, his 13th, for the Yellows. Yucca Valley is now 34-44.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, John Ortíz's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With one out, the Yucca Valley center fielder reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Leuthold said.
