|
Rocky Mountain Vibes starter Cole Oliver pitched a strong game against the Matlacha Manatees at Bellevue Field, leading the Vibes to victory, 4-0. Oliver, now 4-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The 6th-place Vibes now have a win-loss record of 33-37.
Tied up with the Manatees in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Vibes got a boost from shortstop Augusto Meléndez. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Meléndez saw a 2-2 changeup from Juan Sánchez and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Rocky Mountain on top, 2-0.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Oliver. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
