Niagara Falls Edges Mancelona, 3-2, Butt Ks 11
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Niagara Falls Expos and the Mancelona Torch, pitcher Chester Butt was the difference between victory and defeat. The Niagara Falls left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Expos win. The Expos raised their record to 24-37.
Butt was in the zone all game. He frustrated Mancelona hitters while giving the Expos 8 innings of quality work. Butt threw 103 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 11 punchouts.
Mancelona manager Simon Banks said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
