Getting an impressive start from Eric Hyde, Yucca Valley beat Eugene by the score of 6-2. Yucca Valley now sits in 10th place in the Menard's A at 17-26.

The Vandals had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Yellows going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old catcher Steve Green came to the plate. Green hit a 2-run home run on a 1-2 splitter from Eugene hurler Dean Mangin. It was Green's 1st home run of the year.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Yellows manager Francisco Pelaez. "This one was nice to get."
