Yellows Snag 9-3 Win
|
The Yucca Valley Yellows bested the Mancelona Torch by a score of 9-3, with left fielder Tom Murray getting the main credit. On the day, Murray was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Yellows. António Cuellar earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. Mancelona now has a 5-game losing streak.
With one out in the bottom of the eighth, Orlando Gonzáles had a game-changing hit. The Yellows third baseman slammed a run-scoring single off Francisco Cortés, making the score 4-3, Yucca Valley.
