Herons Win Thriller, 4-2

The Herons grabbed a win, 4-2, at Mango Yard, overcoming a fine effort from Matlacha pitcher Lawrence Higgins. Higgins went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Simon Crosby notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. The win gives Holy City a season record of 22-16.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Holy City trailing 2-1, Luis Flores hit a fastball from Alonso González for a 3-run home run, giving the Herons the walk-off win.
After the game, Holy City manager David Buchanan applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
