Hawks Beat Expos, 2-1

The Laredo Hawks beat the Niagara Falls Expos, 2-1. Laredo pitcher and Siguatepeque, Honduras, native Pedro Morales led the way. Morales picked up the win for Laredo, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Earning his 10th save of the year was Jim Lee.
The Expos had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Hawks going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old second baseman Rob Martin came to the plate. Martin hit a 2-run triple on a first pitch sinker from Niagara Falls hurler Armando Flores. It was Martin's 1st triple of the year.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Morales said.
The third-place Hawks are now 20-13, the Expos 13-20.
