Screaming Eagles Beat Atoms, 4-2
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Bethesda Atoms played an exciting game.
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles topped the Bethesda Atoms by the score of 4-2, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Chong-hun Chon. Chon went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles for the Screaming Eagles. Mercer Island reliever Aaron Houghton picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1. Andy Tate was tagged with the loss.
The Screaming Eagles got an important contribution from second baseman Jing-quo Au-Yong, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a 1-2 fastball into left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 15th double of the season and put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 3-0.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Chon told the Mercer Island Herald. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
With the win over Bethesda, the Screaming Eagles improved to 58-38.
