St. Petersburg right-hander Greg Concepción helped his team edge Billings by the score of 3-2. Concepción kept the opposing lineup in check. The Thunder saw their win-loss record go to 37-58. At the same time, the Polar Bears fell to 38-57.
St. Petersburg designated hitter Javier Meléndez contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 78th hit of the season and put the Thunder ahead, 2-0.
"Everything felt in sync," said Concepción.
