Eclipse Need Extra Innings to Top Fighting Imps, 5-4
|
The Northville Eclipse got a hard-earned win over the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 5-4, in 17 innings. Greg García provided some offensive muscle for Northville. He went 4 for 7 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Northville reliever Ned Larkins picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Dewitt Page took the loss. The 6th-place Eclipse are now 43-49, the Fighting Imps 39-53.
The Eclipse relied on center fielder Craig Williams for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 17th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said García.
