The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles wasted an impressive 6-inning effort from starter Francisco Encarnación, falling 1-0 to the Billings Polar Bears at The Igloo. Bruce Lewis, 4-6, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Richard Kinmont earned the save, his 21st, for the Polar Bears.

Billings took control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Keith Boisseau hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Polar Bears.

Boisseau told the Billings News: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."

The Polar Bears now own a record of 37-55.
