Polar Bears Win Close Shave, 5-4
|
Crescent City right fielder Walt Sellek had a good game, even if his team did not. The Krewe dropped a 5-4 decision to Billings at Field of the Krewe. Sellek went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. The Polar Bears improved to 36-52.
Billings relied on the bat of Carl Schroeder to get the win. The right fielder ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Polar Bears ahead, 5-4. For the game, Schroeder had 2 doubles and 1 triple in 6 at-bats.
