Thunder Win at Mercer Island, 3-2

The St. Petersburg Thunder picked up a win at Mercer Island Grounds, courtesy of Greg Concepción. The right-hander helped his team stop the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 3-2. Concepción went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-4. St. Petersburg now sits in 9th place in the Premier AA at 35-51.
St. Petersburg left fielder David Robinson contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 34th hit of the season and put the Thunder ahead, 3-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Mercer Island skipper Ricardo Vargas, "and it cost us."
