The Asheville Highlanders got a good effort from starter Lonnie Dixon in defeating the Billings Polar Bears at The Igloo. The final score was 4-2. The winner in relief was Rob Sawyer. He is now 4-5. Asheville used a clutch hit from Josh Heller to snatch the win. The pinch hitter belted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Highlanders ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

Billings manager Steve Ferguson said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
