Crescent City Gets 8-0 Win
|
Crescent City picked up a win at Atoms Field, bumping off the Bethesda Atoms, 8-0. Pitcher Ramón Marte was a major reason the Krewe emerged victorious. Marte, the winner, moves to 7-0. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 3 walks. The first-place Krewe have won 4 in a row.
Crescent City used the bat of José Hernández to capture the win. The designated hitter jacked a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Krewe ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"The guys seem happy with the win. That's good, I guess," said Marte.
