Mercer Island Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
Floyd Hoover was instrumental in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Athletic Club KC Academy. The catcher went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles. Mercer Island reliever Aaron Houghton got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Zai-shuo Kum was tagged with the loss. Mercer Island is 49-31 and Athletic Club KC Academy, with the loss, 43-37.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Hoover hit a cutter from Zai-shuo Kum for a 2-run home run. The Screaming Eagles, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"This place was rockin'," said Hoover.
