Screaming Eagles Beat Highlanders, 7-6

Both teams had their chances, but the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles eventually prevailed.
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles weathered an outstanding game by Asheville designated hitter Su-shun Hung to topple the Highlanders, 7-6. Hung was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Francisco Encarnación, the winning pitcher, is now 7-5. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 2.
Mercer Island used the bat of Milo Hamilton to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Hamilton.
With this game in the books, Mercer Island is 47-30, Asheville 32-45.
