The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Crescent City Krewe, 11-5, at Mercer Island Grounds. Mercer Island designated hitter William Stanley had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Francisco Encarnación earned the win for Mercer Island. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 6-5. Mercer Island is now 43-29, Crescent City 43-29.

Stanley put Mercer Island up, 9-2, when he hit a grand slam home run off Kevin Swanson in the bottom of the sixth. His 5th home run of the season helped the Screaming Eagles capture the win.

"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Stanley.
