With shortstop Hyun-jung Yi leading the charge, the Billings Polar Bears defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 8-3, at Asheville Park. Yi was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Tommy Adams picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Lonnie Dixon was tagged with the loss. The Polar Bears now have a record of 25-40.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Craig Stafford? The Billings catcher had a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Polar Bears on top, 6-3. For the game, Stafford had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Steve Ferguson said.
