The Northville Eclipse knocked off the Asheville Highlanders, 5-3, at Old-Timers Park. Craig Williams was a big reason Northville won. The center fielder went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Fokke Kaspers, now 4-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings. Kullervo Koistinen earned the save for Northville, his 10th of the year.
Williams contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Northville in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Williams took a fastball from Joe Hunt and stroked the home run to left. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Eclipse to leap in front, 5-3.
"Winning never gets dull," said Williams.
The win makes Northville 27-26.
