Riding the 2-hit performance of the 22-year old right fielder Chong-hun Chon, the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles stopped the Northville Eclipse, 5-2. Roy Roberts, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-3. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Mercer Island is in 4th place in the Premier AA with a record of 26-21.

In the bottom of the fifth, with Mercer Island leading 2-1, Tyrone Higgins hit a changeup from George Washington for a run-scoring single, giving the Screaming Eagles the lead, 3-1.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Higgins told the Mercer Island Herald. "Whatever it takes."
