Extra-Inning Win by Loons Over Atoms
The Minnesota Loons defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 4-3, in USPL Double A action at Atoms Field. Minnesota pitcher Sidney Jones had a standout performance. Minnesota reliever Hemolekekeakua Makaalohi picked up the win to move to 2-0. Mei-shio Qin suffered the loss. The 4th-place Loons have a record of 22-17.

The outcome might have been different for Minnesota, had it not been for Rodrigo Rodríguez, the 22-year old center fielder . Rodríguez stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put Minnesota up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Bethesda manager Tabor de Maria.
