Screaming Eagles Cut Down Polar Bears, 5-0
|
Mercer Island beat Billings on the strength of starter José Zamora's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-0. The Screaming Eagles, at 22-16, sit in 4th place in the Premier AA.
Mercer Island took a 5-0 lead on Joey Pinches's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Pinches hit in the top of the ninth, left Billings pitcher Danny Reynolds shaking his head.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Zamora told the Mercer Island Herald.
