Fighting Imps Down Eclipse, 4-2
|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps beat the Northville Eclipse, 4-2, at Imps Park. The Fighting Imps got a fine performance from left fielder Henry Meredith, who was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Shigetoki Kato, the winning pitcher, is now 2-3. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while fanning 10 and walking 5. Earning his 8th save for Ithaca was Emery Kehler.
Meredith contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Ithaca in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Meredith took a slider from John Williams and stroked the double to right-center. His 5th double of the season allowed the Fighting Imps to leap in front, 2-1.
"We'll build on this win," said Meredith.
The win puts Ithaca at 14-23.
