Polar Bears Defeat Screaming Eagles, 3-1
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Billings Polar Bears and the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles. Billings won it, 3-1. Billings starter Jake Walker was in command. Walker got the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 2 hits and walked 4 over 5.1 innings. Walker allowed no runs. Danny Reynolds was credited with the save for Billings, his 2nd of the season.

The Screaming Eagles had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Polar Bears going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old second baseman Dylan Briggs came to the plate. Briggs hit a 2-run double on a 0-2 splitter from Mercer Island hurler Roy Roberts. It was Briggs's 1st double of the year.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Walker. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The 7th-place Polar Bears lifted their record to 17-20.
