The Northville Eclipse defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 4-2, in USPL Double A action at Asheville Park. Northville pitcher Andy Roberson had a standout performance. In 7.2 innings, Roberson surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. With the win over Asheville, the Eclipse improved to 21-15.
Northville relied on the hitting of Thomas Spencer to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Eclipse on top, 2-0. For the game, Spencer had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I just try to put up zeroes," said Roberson, "and let the rest take care of itself."
