Paul Johnston did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Ithaca Fighting Imps from losing, 5-4, to the Minnesota Loons at Imps Park. Johnston was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Minnesota reliever Conner Hopkins, now 2-0. The loser was Naveed Firdausi. The win gives Minnesota a season record of 16-14.

Minnesota needed the clutch hitting of Jorge Gavilanes to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Loons on top, 5-4. For the game, Gavilanes had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
