Polar Bears Take Down Fighting Imps, 6-5
|
Ithaca got a big-time effort from pitcher Millard Clement, but it wasn't enough to keep the Billings Polar Bears from winning the game, 6-5. Clement threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. With this game in the books, Billings is 11-15, Ithaca 11-15.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the tenth. With Billings trailing 5-4, Sean Leonard hit a fastball from Horace Farris to left-center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Polar Bears had a walk-off win.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Steve Ferguson, the Billings manager.
